About Us
Salon Blue By Cara is a hair salon located just outside of Boston in Winthrop, MA. This salon, newly opened and renovated, is owned by seasoned hair stylist Cara Symmes and offers a variety of services. The salon opened at 526 Shirley St. on February 1, 2021.

Meet our Stylists
Cara Symmes
Cara graduated from Empire beauty school in 2005. After graduation, she secured a position on Newbury street for 5 years. She received extensive instruction in hair cutting and coloring techniques on Newbury Street and continuing education classes. She has worked at iSoci on Newbury Street in Boston, Rumors Hair Design in Winthrop, and Salon 321 in East Boston. Cara specializes in haircuts, hair coloring, eyelash extensions, hair extensions, and Brazilian blowouts. She has always envisioned opening her own salon and is excited to bring her experience and knowledge to her clients!
Lauren Symmes
Lauren graduated from Blaine Cosmetology School in 2008. She received comprehensive professional training in hair cutting and coloring on Newbury Street. Lauren is devoted to education and constantly learning about current hair trends and ways to maintain hair health and growth. She has worked at Rumor’s Hair Design in Winthrop, The Salon at 10 Newbury Street in Boston, and Salon 321 in East Boston. She specializes in precision cuts, balayage, and hair coloring.
